BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today announced a Rs 50,000 loan to the weavers for co-operative societies in the form of farmers' loan waiver.Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said the decision was taken on Tuesday night after discussions with the district administration and other officials.
The weaver loan is made on the pattern of farmers' loan waiver. The government's decision is to benefit 9,000 walks. The total amount of Rs 52 crore is being provided for this purpose.The government has so far released Rs 1,064 crore as farmers' debt.
As per the state government's statements, the state government has benefitted 3,27,018 farmers in 20 districts with a decision taken on loan. Especially beneficial to 28,296 farmers in Mandya district. In Kalaburgi, 27,867 farmers are benefited. It is estimated that 510 farmers benefited from the Kodagu district.
